  • Where have I been??

I have been here.. just not in my right mind is all. Anna's birthday party is in 2 weeks and I am just a mess.. Seriously!

She decided on a "Girls Rock" Party. So I made concert tickets for invitations. I already ordered some items from Oriental Trading(love that place). I still have alot to plan and purchase but my brain is mush! I bought some cardboard guitars that they could decorate and hang on their walls.. I am thinking Anna could have everyone's signature on hers. They will decorate guitar pics.. already purchased a guitar pinata. She wants to also do Karaoke with all the girls.. what fun.. I can picture everyone wanting to sing Hannah Montana songs.. My son is gonna really love that.. not!.

I am really a mess over this party though.. Main reason.. hubby decided Anna should invite some of her friends from dance. I almost lost it when he said this. I love her parties and planning them is so much fun.. but the only ones that come are those very close to me.. I don't do well with those I don't really know, and they are going to be in my house!! I am reminded of the time I was PTO co-president and just before our first meeting I was tearing up so badly.. my heart was pounding.. the other co-president was very aware and immediately asked if I could check on the kids in the next room.. I walked out and just cried.. so yeah, I don't do well around a bunch of people I don't really know. I can do one on one.. but that is about it..

I am told I will survive! I hope so..

In preparation for Anna's party.. we have been working on the house. David and Abby have been painting.. they cleared out and painted the family room downstairs.. moved all the school stuff, toys and books to that room. We found a free couch and recliner in great shape.. bought an area rug. David continued to paint the stairway and hallway. He has been working on the yard. I have been steaming and moving things and trying to organize. When you have to continue with your dailies and school.. it is not an easy task! But we are getting there.. It was supposed to be done 2 years ago but never happened. Now it seems things are starting to fall in place. Alot of work and chaos included.. but it's getting done finally!

I have also been learning alot of new dishes. I started looking up some Korean recipes on YouTube and found a few side dishes I have been really wanting to make on my own. Angel has been very pleased with the outcome. I like to cook when he enjoys the food.. It is also nice to have different things for a change. Our dinner menus can get pretty mundane lately.

This weekend we are picking up my mom for the week. She will be helping with the party stuff and keeping me company while I go insane.

Oh, I should mention next month won't get any better. Anna has her ballet performance in May and we have alot of rehearsals to attend. Part of me can't wait til June!!

  • Monday's are so tough...

No one wants to wake up!  Anna drags thru school.. the house is always a disaster from the weekend.  Anna has early ballet class.. Everything on my end is rush rush rush..

Somehow we always manage though.  Anna got 13 hours of sleep!  We went to bed at 8pm on Sunday because we were just exhausted.  Obviously she needed the 13 hours.

We plan on doing some work in the basement in the next month or two.  Lots to be done.  David and Abby did an awesome job going thru stuff and tossing out alot.  Now the rest is really up to us to go through and get it all cleaned out.

Jade and Kate are also coming soon!  Can't wait!

I need to start going thru colors to see what is the best color for the basement walls.  We want to brighten up the room.. It seriously needs it.

  • Icy Windows....

That is what I woke up to on Saturday Morning.  Icy windows.. like ice, lined up on the bottom of the inside of the window.  The house was 54 degrees.. Our furnace was not working.

It had also shut off on Friday.. Angel got it started again.. we couldn't figure out why it was shutting off on us.  However, the basement is the coldest in the house.. especially the laundry room, where the furnace sits.. and it was 10 degrees outside.  The dryer vent going out the window seriously doesn't help..

After getting the heater to work, hubby fought with the kerosene heater.. We needed backup, but it had not been used in quite a long time.  He finally got that working and then he wanted to go to Mirsh Masala.  We have no heat in the van.. I was so not up to that.. I had pj's on under my clothes because there was no way I was exposing flesh in my cold house.

Well, we went.  After a nice buffet (where Anna's meal consisted of naan bread and 2 slices of raw carrots (gee, if only I ate like her!).. we headed over to Stop and Shop and spent 100.00 on food.. (it's never ending, but thankfully lunch was like 22.00)

We love the click it scanner at stop and shop.. Anna has a blast with that thing.. although I had to keep reminding her that I didn't need to know the total of everything that went in, every time she scanned..  "Mommy, that was 3.99 and now we have 58.69 total."

After unpacking the food.. Angel went to bed and I just played around on the internet.. then Abby came and we chatted.. Angel woke up and he and Anna spent the evening playing Asda Story, while Abby and I talked to after midnight.  We never had dinner although made Anna something.. We were still full from lunch!

Sunday morning I woke alot and had to clean the disaster of our home.. (that's what happens when you slack off for one day around here.. ) and Ethan came.

He was silly.. He saw the Kerosene heater and immediately wanted to know what it was, does it move, does it make noise.. turns out he thought it was a heater.. lol.. He was totally in awe and talked about it forever.. but he was also skittish because while talking to Abby about it .. he got to close.. backed off quickly and fell into his potty seat..  It was totally funny.. poor kid.. no tears though.. just got up and started talking about it again.

Today we are back to our daily grind athough slowly since Angel and Anna are still sleeping (we went to bed at 8pm last night!).  Going to be a tough day, but hey, we still have heat!

  • It has been a tough few days.. but today will be better.

  • Nothing much to say...

I am trying to be faithful with posting but I seriously am not sure what to say here.. hmmm

It was a typical day.. Monday's are always hard to get back in gear.  School was light.  We worked on our paper quilt, Anna did her Bible Lesson from CEF MailBox Club and it is ready to be mailed back.  We did madlibs for English, She started her new week's lesson for Math and Spelling.  Nice and quiet day..

Then Ethan came, followed soon by Abby and David who haven't really been here all week.. Anna was supposed to go to Ballet class but it was pouring hard and Daddy of course really didn't want to drive in it.  So we ended up having a nice evening together.  Abby decided to buy us all pizza from Dominos.. which we had not had in a long time.  Did you know that you can order online and then watch how the order is progressing.  The site told us what time Carlos put the pizza into the oven and exactly when it was ready for pick up.. I thought that was a hoot.  We even got a bit of alone time because Annaleah and Ethan both wanted to go with David and Abby to get the pizza.

Early bedtime at 9 and all was good.

Today I need to really get on track.  Full day of school lessons .. I need to get things in order.  It is amazing how much a weekend off can do damage around here.

If you would like to know more about Annaleah's Bible Correspondence.. check it out CEF MailBox Club.

She really enjoys these lessons.  It comes with a Bible story, a story about a family that goes along with it and questions to answer and send back for the next lesson.  She looks forward to her lessons.  Also check around at the site.  There are some things for kids there as well ..  wonderzone

I suppose I had something to say after all.

  • Why we avoid Wendy's...

We planned on going to visit my brother-in-law, Abe.  His daughter was there for the weekend and I had not seen her in a good maybe 9 years.

Angel woke up rather late, after being up early morning, so we started out later than we thought.  He had not eaten so of course, fast food was in order.  We decided on Wendys since it was right there where we were getting gas.  Now, from the past, we should really know better to go there.. but we decided to try once again.

We go in and I see on the board..

    Bold Buffalo Boneless Wings

Pack some punch in your lunch. Get 100% tender and juicy all-white chicken hand-tossed in our signature buffalo sauce made with aged cayenne pepper.

Now that seriously looks good to me.. so I order it.. 3.99.. nothing else included.

First I wait much longer for it.. Anna and Angel had already gotten theirs.. ok.. maybe a bit of work involved..

    Then it arrives..

Now I don't know what I was thinking but the pic on the board looked like they were bigger.  This is only what it looked like after I rolled around the chicken nugget into the bit of sauce sitting on the bottom.  The nuggets looked like the exact ones you see on the board advertising 5 for .99
I paid 4.00 so that is 3.01 for 2 more nuggets and sauce..
    seriously??
Good thing Angel bought a large fries, so I was able to get a bit of that.
The wings were good.  Just alot of money for something so small.
then came the trip to the bathroom..
Ok, ladies, it is bad enough when you tinkle on the seat and don't wipe..
but how do you miss and get the entire front of the toilet (floor) instead??
then Angel comes out and he is not happy either.. apparently someone covered the entire seat with urine..
He was forced to clean it and then dump the toilet paper onto the floor
because there was no trash can at all.  It was either that or clog the toilet..
This is why we avoid Wendy's here.
Moving on to Abe's house.  We had a really nice visit.  Mariah has grown from a beautiful little girl to a beautiful young lady.
She has had a rocky start.. I can only pray things will get better for her.
I didn't get alot of pics but here are the few I got with my phone.
    Anna and Ally
Mariah playing cards on the couch
Angel and Abe taking a pic
In other news, I finally finished the puzzle that Abby and David bought me.
the top part was torture!  I loved every minute of it..

  • Twitter

The other day I decided to try and attend a twitter party through Savvyblogging.  I reserved like they asked and got excited.. but since the party was at 9pm, I really wasn't sure if I was going to be able to attend.  Hubby made it possible for me to check it out.  So I did for about 40 min.. wow.. there were alot of people.  Like alot.  The chat was going so fast.. I couldn't keep up..  Then there are twitter symbols.. hashtags, etc.  that I am not familiar with.  It was quite an experience.  I gave up, thinking I could probably read it all the next day.. so I saved the tweet grid and went to bed.

I woke up with a ton of email telling me I have new followers.  Wow.  As of this morning there are 117 new followers.  So I think, ok.. first of all.. I don't have any interesting words!  Like.. my tweets are probably considered mundane.. boring, ya know.. I don't have much to say!   Then I think ok, since they are following me I should follow them right?

So last night I did.. I am now following everyone on their list.  It's alot.  My echofon in my firefox was losing it.  So I disabled that and ran tweetdeck.  I am not sure it can handle it.  Wow!

I love reading others!  I read alot of blogs daily as it is.. My problem, I never really comment.  I am like that fly on the wall just watching everything around me but never contributing.  I know I need to change that.. but seriously, my blog is not that interesting.. I am surprised I have readers at all!  Hmmm..

I know I also have this irritating habit of  adding periods to everything......   yea, like that.. doesn't it drive you nuts?  bUT aT LeAst i DOn't TyPE LikE tHIs!  LOL!

Ok, I think it is time to open up my tweet deck and see what the night was like.  Oh funny comment.. I told my husband, at least I don't have it set to go to my phone.. He then started talking about the batteries dying fast from all the vibrating and smoke coming out of my phone.  I thought.. hey it would be cool if I found a chirping audio for text messages..

Ok, tweet deck, here I come.
